A note from Michael Parkes—This sculpture is a playful look at the idea of good and evil. We are all familiar with the three monkeys sitting in line: They see no evil, hear no evil or speak no evil. But their impression is if one hides from evil, it does not exist. The angel opens the monkey’s eyes for him to see that good balances evil and the greatest gift is the free will to choose. But hopefully this rather weighty subject is offset by the sense of the young angel playing a game with the monkey and having fun.
